Some time ago I was attracted to the theme of women who eat / women eating their meal.
In one tv series(I don’t remember its name), there was a scene where a woman messed up (very strongly, she messed with her family and her relationships with people she loved), and at one point she returns to an empty house and sees a cake on the table. This was a large birthday cake for several people (but no one will eat it, no one will come to the party). She gets ready, takes off her white blouse, and ties her hair. She prepares herself slowly and carefully, like for a duel or a fight. And then she starts to eat, with her hands, gets dirty, eats a bit like an animal, there is something primal about it, and something more. I saw a similar theme of a woman eating in several other film productions. There is something intriguing about this. The woman drinks all the brewed beer – as in this proverb. There is something adult about it, something primal and something very feminine.
In general, feeding, eating, having a meal, and the meanings that a meal and the process itself, are incredibly inspiring. And the feast is a celebration of this very theme.
With this painting I begin the cycle.
Jakiś czas temu przyciągnął mnie temat kobiet jedzących – spożywających posiłki.
W jednym serialu była scena (nie pamiętam jakim) gdy kobieta która nabroiła (ale tak porządnie, namotała w swojej rodzinie i relacjach), i w pewnym momencie wraca do pustego domu, a na stole stoi tort. Taki spory urodzinowy tort dla kilku osób. Bohaterka przygotowuje się, ściąga biała bluzkę, związuje włosy. Przygotowuje się powoli i dokładnie, jak do pojedynku czy walki. A potem zaczyna jeść, je rękoma, brudzi się, je trochę jak zwierze, jest w tym coś pierwotnego, coś więcej. Podobny motyw kobiety zjadającej widziałam w kilku innych produkcjach filmowych. Jest w tym coś intrygującego. Kobieta wypija całe nawarzone piwo – jak w tym przysłowiu. Jest w tym coś dorosłego, coś pierwotnego i coś bardzo kobiecego. W ogóle karmienie, jedzenie, spożywanie oraz znaczenia jakie moze mieć posiłęk i sam proces są niesamowicie inspirujące. A uczta jest celebracją tego właśnie tematu.
